Hello everyone! First and foremost I wanted to apologise for not updating my blog within the past couple of days. Due to college and work and to my laziness! Forgive me please. Let’s put that aside and talk about the heels! My freaking feet looks like fat! hahaha. I swear I don’t have the best feet ever, I think I have the worst feet of all the women.
Okay, so DIY is here. My first DIY entry, and I’m excited to share it! I was inspired by the gorgeous shoes of Miu Miu, Topshop, River Island and other famous brands out there, which I pretty much couldn’t afford. So I decided to just make my own glitter shoes and it turned out like this! I know it is not perfect, I still need to add second layer to it because you can see the bottom layer/base. I was browsing the internet and I found these:
Aren’t they pretty, so why not make your own? especially when you can save a lot of money!!!
The materials I’ve used are listed below:
Stock shoes - any heels that you don’t use anymore! as long as it is fabric or leather? I forgot to take a photo of what I’ve used but it looks something like this.
Then FABRIC GLUE - which I bought in Boyes or any fabric store/arts and crafts store.
Glitter shakers preferably gold and silver or any colour you are interested with.
Diamond stickers in white or any prefer colour. I’ve only got few left because I’ve used them already for the heels (forgot to take a photo of it again!)
Paint brush is necessary, unless you wanted to use your hands lol kidding!
Plus make sure you have magazines or newspapers for the excess glitters, so you wouldn’t make a lot of mess and you could still use the excess ones.
Here are the steps on how I did this shoes:
- Place all the materials in one place
- Plot the magazine papers/newspapers, make sure you plot it on the even surface
- Place the shoes above it, take one shoe then apply fabric glue on the shoe, one tip! apply it section-by-section so it would not dry the other areas while putting glitters on one side.
- Spread the glue using brush then shake the glitters(gold) thoroughly over the glue
- Shake the shoes for the excess glitter (make sure you are doing this over the newspapers/magazines
- Then repeat steps (glue, glitters and shake)
- Then for the heels, take your glue and apply on the heels and spread using paint brush.
- Stick the sticker diamonds all over the heels, make sure its even!
- Then take the glitter shaker(silver) and apply to the heels, shake for the excess.
- Then repeat process for the other shoe.
AND THEN ….. TADA!!!!
Preferably let it dry for 24 hours and repeat process of applying glitters if you can still see the base of the shoes/if not then just let it dry then ready to wear!
NOTE: Prepare for fall out glitters because again this is a DIY, making an affordable product for certain occasions. If you don’t want fall outs and better quality, then just go buy it to the shops! :) This is just my opinion and my own style, I’m not gonna use this always anyway so it is suitable for me.
